Flower Spike, etching and lithograph, unique state, 2010
The Waterhouse Art Prize entries are currently on show at the South Australian Museum and I’m very pleased to have an entry in the Works on Paper category. Flower Spike is part of a series of works that are still emerging following a fabulous stay in Central Australia. The rich tones of the Xanthorrhoea flower spikes are illuminated by the evening sun as it makes a hasty decent over the horizon. A magical moment in the desert!
The exhibition continues until the 5th of September at the South Australian Museum Special Exhibitions Gallery.
